The
Language of Truth
Deep
down in me I knew it was a lie, and He knew it. You can't pray a
lie - I found that out.
Mark Twain
Prayer
is the contemplation of the facts of life from the highest point
of view.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Prayer is the spirit speaking truth to Truth.
Philip James Bailey
The
realization of the true and just, is made clear and visible in
the light of these prayer. It
is the process that reveals the limitations and falsities of our understanding.
In the glow of prayer, we are able to observe the reasoning behind
our actions, their worth and meaning, - and thus, get a real perspective
on our life.
The
word Truth comes from the Old English word [treowth], which means
‘faithfulness’. As the word 'truth' in itself
implies, our walk in faith needs to be established in full knowledge
of what is true.
Truth
needs to be the very center of our lives, - for without it, it
is impossible to be faithful to God.
The
right conduct and a moral way of being is always a struggle to those
who cannot see Truth. The ones that understand Truth,
- they find 'walking the path' is simply instinctual. They
have true inner contentment, - without division, temptation or
doubt. The forces of grief and sorrow that depress
the heart, become diffused like shadows in the presence of light.
Truth
is both scientific and religious. Science deals with the facts of
life and religion deals with life's values. Science and religion are
not at odds with each other. They're complimentary to each other.
Or as Albert Einstein noted, "Science without religion is
lame, religion without science is blind".
Prayer
reconciles and integrates these complimentary aspects of knowledge.
Prayer is that bridge between creating a science that is valuable
to the dignity of man, and a religion that is factual to the degree
of a science.
It's
in the contemplation of prayer, that this wisdom is realized.
