Prayer is of transcendent importance. Prayer is the mightiest agent to advance God's work. Praying hearts and hands only can do God's work. Prayer succeeds when all else fails. Prayer is our most formidable weapon, the thing which makes all else we do efficient.

Prayers Beautify Your World

Prayer is both a means and an end.

It is the means for our development in holiness, as in its presence, we embody the holy self we seek. It is then with our holiness that we sculpt our end and effect our world... our environment. Prayer is primarily the means for becoming a better person.

However, prayer also changes things for you. While all the blessings above state that you are the change that prayer affects, - prayer also changes what events, circumstances, people or pieces of knowledge that come to you.

By activating the purpose of love in our lives, God moves things to bring about its realization. Our actions become guided and protected by the power of God's providence.

As the archbishop of Canterbury William Temple put it, "when I pray coincidences happen, and when I do not, they don't." Prayer not only changes you - but also affects what God does for you.

Or as Jesus noted: "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are sinful, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!"

By prayer we couple the powers of heaven to our helplessness, the powers which can capture strongholds and make the impossible possible
